All our Verdejo wines tend to be a bit greener and this vintage is no exception. The wine has incredible acidity, with vibrant flavors of gooseberries, green apple, lime and grapefruit, which follows through onto the palate. The palate has a smooth texture and a bit of minerality. Not an overly complex wine, this is bright, vibrant, and best enjoyed young.
The Verdejo portion of this wine is grown in the front vines of the Estate and machine harvested. The Vidal Blanc was whole cluster pressed and added straight into the tank. During the wines 6 month maturation, it was stirred constantly to keep the lees in suspension, building texture. The juice for this wine was very clean and the acid was at just the right levels, a truly minimalistic approach worked well on this wine.
