The nose is intense and aromatic with more oak derived aromas initially, with pronounced smoky, charred wood and cured meat tones.
With aeration and warmth, the subdued fruit tones come to the fore with dark berries [plum, black and blue berry], with additional notes of bitter chocolate, violets and dried herbs. A compelling a complex nose that changes in the glass.
Make no mistake, this is a big wine, it is bone dry with luscious tannins and a long and lengthy finish. It has good grip, showing little astringency and the oak is well balanced with the acidity and the fruit of the wine. The palate is dominated by dark berries with secondary flavors of espresso, black tea and pencil lead or graphite.
Beautifully dark and inky in color, with no signs of sediment.
The nose is beautifully aromatic with primary tones of white pepper, Provencal herbs and violets. With additional time in the glass, aromas of cherry, spices, graphite, black tea and smoke start coming out. This wine is aromatically complex and intricate. This Cabernet Franc is full bodied with initially lots of oak derived flavors of charred wood, clove, spice and mocha. With additional oxygenation, you get the beautiful spicy and pepper flavors associated with this varietal with secondary flavors of dark berries and chocolate.
The palate is quite grippy, the tannins are present but there is little astringency and bitterness. As big as this wine, there is a vibrancy and brightness due to good acidity levels. This is beautifully balanced and poised although a bit linear at the moment, requiring some time to fully reach its potential.
Dark Ruby red in color, with perhaps some purple tones. Beautifully extracted, showing no signs of sediment.
The nose is beautifully fragrant and floral with sweet ripe berries, violets, dried herbs, cedar, and pencil shavings. Beautifully complex and intricate and ever changing which is to be expected from a young wine. With some aeration, the shows a touch of leather or pipe tobacco.
The wine shows lovely acidity on the front before transitioning to the mid and back palate, showing ample tannins that are supple and silky. This wine has plenty of fruit, dominated by plum, black and boysenberry. The finish is long and drying that suggests this wine needs a few more years in the bottle to fully integrate.
This is not a massively extracted wine, it showcases more elegance and restraint and is perhaps more reminiscent of an Old-World version.
Medium or dark Ruby in appearance, with medium plus aromas of black cherry, black plum, black currant, mocha, coffee, with some smoky or meaty undertones. Additionally, some floral elements of violet or lavender. The plate is medium bodied with good length, medium plus acidity and is bone dry. There is some additional flavors of toast and milk chocolate along with the aromas.The finish is medium, but this wine may benefit from 1-3 years in the bottle.
A style of wine that is meant to be enjoyed young, either on it’s own or with smoked or spicy meats and hard cheeses.
A dark wine with bright Ruby Rim, dense and dark at the core. The nose is expressive, showing Red fruits [cherry, plum, cranberry], dark fruits [black berry, plum, black currant], some oak derived tones [Coffee, Mocha, Esperesso, Toast] and then some floral [Violet, Lavender]
The nose is quite layered and complex.
The palate has great entry with bright red and black flavors, with really vibrant acidity that leaves your tongue salivating. The palate extends towards the back, where you pick up the medium bodied but fine-grained tannins, while the finish is quite long and lengthy.
This is a lovely, well balanced wine that drink beautifully now but will improve over the next 3-4 years.
