Tasting Tuesday - 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon Estate Reserve

Deep and rich in the glass, displaying purple and violet tones. The nose is pungently aromatic, displaying a core of sappy dark fruits with hints of purple flower, tobacco and chocolate. The palate is rich and opulent with a layer of dark fruits turning to bitter chocolate and deeper spicy tones. The wine has wonderful entry into the mouth due to the acidity and fruit; but the tannins are polished and smooth, creating a long and lengthy finish. This is a highly complex wine that can warrant cellaring for 8-10 years, under optimal cellar condition.

This wine is the epitome of elegance and balance, all parts of the wine are seamless and harmonious.

This reminds me a lot of the 2009 vintage Cabernet, which was one of my favorite wines to date.
