2017 Cabernet Franc

Tasting Notes
This is a deeply pigmented wine, with 100% clarity. The nose shows darker fruits and plenty of smoky tones due to the influence of the oak barrels. There is also a lot of dried meats, cured olives and some lovely herbs on the back end, very intriguing.
The palate shows a lot of primary fruit flavors since the wine is young, plenty of boysenberry and blackberries. The oak is evident but balanced by wonderful acidity, really giving this wine a lift. The tannins are soft and supple, very fine grained and plays a supporting role to the varietal character of the wine.
A style that is a bit more savory and fruit forward versus the typical Loire versions.
Optimum drinking age is 3-5 years but will be able to age for up to 8 years or so if stored under optimal cellar condition.
