The wine has good color, more dark red than our typical purple colored wines. The nose is quite fruit forward and gravitates towards more red fruits, such as cranberries, red currant and raspberries. There is also a nice rusticity on the nose, a touch of forest floor and truffles. The palate is quite bright with a good amount of acidity. The tannins are quite soft and supple but this is definitely a medium bodied wine. The flavors are again in the red spectrum range. Serving this slightly chilled will really enhance the wine. The acid should allow the wines to age for up to 5 years but probably best enjoyed between 3-5 years. Serve with pork, smoked ham or cured meats.
