2019 Estate Reserve Rose
100% Touriga Nacionale
Visually the wine is clear and shows no signs of flocculation, gas or sediment. The color is pale [due to limited skin contact], slightly copper in tone with pink or salmon hues.
The nose is dry and bright, showcasing initial aromas of citrus, stone fruit and wet stone, but turning to more red fruit with warmth and aeration.
The palate has a beautiful entry with the acidity keeping the fruit forward flavors in check, The wine shows some good weight in the mid palate and there is a lovely transition to the back palate due to the subtle hint of oak. The finish is medium, clean and bright. Additional flavors of baking spice, red apple skin and tart red fruits start coming out, but this wine may need a month or two to open up a bit.
Food pairing would be pork dishes, roasted chicken and plank baked salmon, and I would personally serve this wine quite chilled and allow it to warm up naturally.
