June Tasting Tuesday 4 pack
2019 LVA Rose
100% Touriga Nacionale. This is a dry Provencal style wine; that is fermented and matured exclusively in tank, with no secondary fermentation. Bright red fruits on the nose and palate, possessing lovely acidity while maintaining a long and lengthy finish. Perfect on its own during the warmer months or paired with shellfish and oysters on the half shell.
100% clear, fairly light in color with little to no flocculation. The nose is quite floral and tropical with aromas of peach, pineapple, honeysuckle and mango with subtle hints of baking spices. The palate is lighter and brighter than previous versions, due to the elevated acidity in the wine. The flavors are more on the yellow spectrum while the palate shows great length and concentration. There is some nice weight and balance to the wine and the acidity prevents the wine from becoming too cloying or viscous.
2019 Trevillian White
A dry wine comprised of 71% Viognier and 29% Vidal Blanc, fermented and matured exclusively in stainless steel tanks. The nose is initially fruit forward with cantaloupe, melon and apricots, turning to more baking spice aromas with warmth and aeration. The flavors are centered around a core of yellow fruit, with good acidity creating balance with the long and weighty finish.
Pair with dishes with cream sauces, grilled lobster or swordfish.
2019 Trevillian Red
A blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Petit Verdot, matured for 6 months in neutral French Oak barrels. Aromas of dark fruit greet you with secondary hints of bitter chocolate and espresso tones. That core of black fruit is continued on the palate, held together by finely grained tannins, while balanced by juicy acidity. This red wine is both approachable and ageworthy, and may be laid down for a further 5-7 years. Pair with braised short ribs, spice rubbed or cured meats.
