A beautiful golden color with absolute clarity, the nose shows the warmth of the vineyard with an abundance of tropical fruits and honeysuckle aromas. A hint of spiciness from the Pinot Gris comes through after aeration. There is a fair amount of acidity on the front palate before the oak texture of the wine comes through. It is a big wine, but well balanced. The oak is relatively subtle and the flavors tend to be in the yellow fruit spectrum.
After being pressed, the fruit for the 2016 edition of Trevillian White was transferred to french oak barrels for fermentation. Primary fermentation completed in just 2 weeks with barrels receiving daily stirring. The wine was then aged on the gross lees for 9 months in 3rd fill French Oak.
